Sowing Mercy & Judgment
This teaching applies to everybody because we all deal with mercy and judgment everyday. The Bible teaches that there is a relationship between mercy and judgment. James 2:13 tells us, “For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.” Pastor McMenis uses the Scriptures to teach that if we do not show mercy, we will reap judgment; and if we sow judgment, we will reap no mercy. This study looks at mercy and judgment in conjunction with Luke 6:38 – a verse that many have associated solely with finances. In looking at this Scripture in context within Luke 6:32 – 38, we see the life principle that Jesus was teaching. That is, what we sow – be it mercy, judgment, condemnation or forgiveness – we will in turn reap the seed that was sown “good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over” back into our lives.
